Job Description

Manage all equipment buys from inception through award, including but not limited to:

Vendor pre-qualifications and qualifications, development of bidders lists, development of RFP’s, evaluation of proposals and leveling of bids with Project Engineering and Cost Engineers, negotiating final price and terms, generation of award recommendation letters with stakeholder approvals

Responsibilities

Manage all equipment buys from inception through award, including but not limited to:
Vendor pre-qualifications and qualifications, development of bidders lists, development of RFP’s, evaluation of proposals and leveling of bids with Project Engineering and Cost Engineers, negotiating final price and terms, generation of award recommendation letters with stakeholder approvals
Develop necessary language in the Purchasing Agreements with appropriate scope, commercial, technical, and corporate (e.g. insurance, surety, Liquidated Damages) provisions.
Globally maintain consistent Purchasing and Selection Methods, Business Processes / Doc Control / SharePoint. Document and manage all Procurement business processes, roles & responsibilities, lessons learned, etc.
Assist Project Engineering in the expediting and approval of equipment submittals, and ensure all deliveries are on-time.
Manage the Administration of all Change Management and Administer Purchasing Agreements through close of Purchasing Agreements and negotiation of reconciliations.

Required Skills

  • 10 years of professional experience in purchasing or materials management, preferably in an industrial construction, manufacturing, or marine equipment industry with part of that experience being in a project environment with global projects in excess of $500M.
  • A working knowledge of Six-Sigma, Lean, Kaizen and ISO 9000 / AS 9100 with the ability to apply each appropriately and situationally. APICS/CSCP, NAPM, or ISM Certification a plus
  • Needs to have a solid understanding of Bills of Material and how to use them to identify material requirements.
  • Must have good understanding of machining, manufacturing, and fabrication processes.
